The worksheet won't display.

RC-Aid generates the worksheet as a document in PDF format.  You must have a program on your computer that enables you to display and print that type of file, the most common of these being Adobe Acrobat Reader.  A link to a free Adobe Acrobat Reader download is provided on the worksheet screens.  Settings for your browser can also affect how the downloaded PDF document is opened or saved.  And finally, system network settings can affect the downloading process.  Contact your institution's IS department if loading a PDF reader and adjusting the browser settings do not resolve the problem.  top

Why do I see z's in front of the lot numbers of some of the antigrams on the master file?

When the complete antigram is entered and validated, a z is placed in front of the lot number. After the lot undergoes a second independent validation, the z is removed.

When we enter an antigram without it's special antigens (Ortho sometimes posts their antigrams before posting the special antigens) we place two z's, a 'zz', in front of the lot number. After the special antigens are entered, the 'zz' in front of the lot is changed to a 'z' and the 'z' is removed after the second validation.  top

If you do not see all the common antigens at one time on your screen, you can correct the problem by increasing the pixels displayed.

  • Place your cursor on your desktop's background. Click the right mouse button.
  • Select the settings folder.
  • Change the screen resolution to 1024 X 768.

What are the guidelines for a creating a strong password?

It is generally recommended that passwords be between six and eight characters.

IN addition, the following character sets should be included in every password:

  • uppercase letters such as A, B, C
  • lowercase letters such as a, b, c
  • numerals such as 1, 2, 3
  • special characters such as $, ?, &

What may be most effective is for users to choose a phrase that has personal meaning (for easy recollection), to take the initials of each of the words in that phrase and convert some of those letters into other characters (substituting '3' for 'e' is a common example).  top
